Department Overview
The Field Engineering team is seeking a dedicated professional for a remote position that requires travel (over 75%). Candidates must reside in Nebraska, Kansas, or Iowa.
Job Summary
Your role will involve providing expert technical support for complex systems and product applications. This includes troubleshooting software-driven electronics, provisioning communication system infrastructure, and optimizing performance across RF and Broadband architectures, such as legacy analog systems and advanced digital P25 technology. Key responsibilities include programming, configuring, testing, and documenting intricate communication systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure efficient system operations, focusing on trend analysis and thorough documentation.
- Develop innovative solutions to sophisticated technical problems encountered during system implementation, upgrades, or support tasks.
- Provide weekly reports regarding activities and accomplishments.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Strong understanding of wired communication systems including LAN and WAN; proficiency in network installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Capability to install and troubleshoot server hardware, operating systems, and software infrastructure.
- Knowledge of RF systems including transmitters, receivers, and antenna networks.
- Experience with various communications test equipment.
- Understanding of standard telephony and dedicated data circuits, alongside familiarity with packet switching techniques.
- Excellent proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
- Strong self-management and communication skills, with a proactive and motivated approach.
- A proven ability to address customer issues swiftly in challenging situations.
- A valid driver's license with no traffic violations.
Additional Skills
- Experience optimizing and supporting complex communication systems.
- Familiarity with logging recording systems, RF interfaces, and networking equipment.
Experience with the following equipment is preferred:
- Consoles (MCC7500, MCC7100)
- Channel Banks and T1 Circuits
- Computer IP Networks and Configuration
- RF Infrastructure Technologies
Compensation
Target Base Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 USD. Pay within this range varies based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Basic Requirements
- 4+ years of technical or engineering experience.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required; employer work permit sponsorship is not available.
