The Automation Sales Manager will be responsible for

guiding and supporting the Automation Specialists to

advance sales growth, EBITDA performance, and

high-quality customer service through efficiencies in automation. Partner and

collaborate with the Area Vice Presidents to build short and long term strategies for each area.

This position is the

catalyst for sales growth for the automation market segment. Ideally, you will also facilitate discussions with customer's engineering teams, CEO's etc. This role thrives with a high level of

technical expertise and analytical insight in addition to the skills listed below.

Foster the development of the Automation Specialist team to efficiently and effectively execute the automation sales strategy.

Experience in supporting technical engineering resource groups / departments.
Leads the Automation sales team, who act as trusted advisors to both internal and external customers for all areas of automation (robotics, cutting systems etc.) for our MetFab customers.
Up to 50% travel is required.
Steward automation assets throughout the Regional Company. Forecast and budget for future staff and equipment needs for the fiscal year.
Cultivate effective collaboration, teamwork, and communication throughout the Region by participating in staff meetings and planning sessions.
Develop a P&L (Sales & GP) to enable the region to measure the growth of all Automation Technologies and related products.
Develop local vendor partnerships to nurture the segment's growth in the region, conduct technical and product sales training, and support the sales process.
Oversee the Airgas commercial offering for all laser gases.
Nurture training and development for the automation team to ensure alignment with the needs of the markets we serve.
Interface and planning with the service team for all installations.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

We are looking for a professional who brings a broad knowledge of the robotics, cutting and fabrication processes common to the Airgas customer base including but not limited to:

BS Degree in Business or Engineering
Must have a valid driver’s license
Ideally, you bring a minimum of 10 years experience working in the welding industry with experience guiding a sales force proficient at supporting mechanized cutting systems, robotics and other automated welding/cutting products (15 years preferred).
Proficient with computer applications including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
Strong writing skills with ability to contribute to national reports and correspondence.
Strong interpersonal and intrapersonal communication skills to permit building partnerships with owners and general managers of large companies.
A strong understanding of business acumen across the markets that Airgas serves.
A demonstrated history of delivering impact could supersede specific educational requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Manual, semi-automated and automated welding processes and the advancement of those processes.
Automation and robotic applications primarily associated with welding and related processes.
Experience with basic shop equipment used for punching, forming, bending, or rolling of both plate and structural steel components.
Knowledge of automation equipment from various suppliers.
Ideally, you are proactive and dedicated to achieving shared goals.
Collaborative communication skills to support and empower others and effectively foster alignment within groups.
Team player with a positive attitude towards other associates, customers and work environment.
Flexible and adaptable in the face of changing customer schedules.
Financial insight for articulating ROC, and other metrics utilized by business professionals when considering capital equipment purchases.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages in relation to productivity improvements. Skill in interpreting bar graphs.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Comfortable navigating evolving situations.
