Electrical Power Engineer

This position provides electrical design services for the construction of industrial projects and provides electrical support for issues related to the installation and operation of electrical equipment associated with an industrial production process. This is an in-office position.
Essential Functions and Basic Duties
- Provide electrical designs and drawings for projects including primary electrical distribution, low voltage distribution, equipment specifications, equipment layout, lighting, grounding, and other related electrical issues.
- Perform various electrical studies such as load flow analysis, fault studies, arc-flash evaluations and/or co-generation application studies.
- Work with Projects department in determining electrical equipment requirements including specifications, power requirements, layout, and control requirements.
- Communicate with vendors to develop equipment evaluations, specifications, and workable delivery schedules for electrical equipment installation.
- Coordinate with Projects department to ensure accurate specification and procurement of electrical equipment in a timely manner to meet construction schedule.
- Work with electric utility companies to develop electrical service requirements and designs to provide adequate electric power to plants and to address co-generation issues.
- Develop ideas and methods for the continuous improvement in the design process and equipment applications.
- Provide engineering support to existing plants in analyzing and resolving problems or addressing other electrical issues.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (required)
- Electrical Engineering PE license (required)
- Minimum 4 years of electrical engineering experience (required)
- Background in electrical power systems (preferred)
- Proficiency with MS Office and AutoCAD
- Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving mindset
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication
- Independent work capability and a high level of integrity
- Fluent in written and spoken English
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This role blends office‑based engineering with occasional onsite visits. Conditions may include loud noise, temperature extremes, humidity, airborne particles, or electrical hazards. Tasks may involve working at heights or lifting up to 70 lbs. (seldom).
