Chief Engineer

A well‑known property is seeking an experienced Maintenance Chief to lead our maintenance team and ensure the building, grounds, and equipment operate safely and efficiently. This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for supervising staff, coordinating repairs, performing preventive maintenance, and maintaining high safety and quality standards.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, train, and schedule maintenance staff across building, grounds, and facility operations
- Oversee painting, basic electrical and plumbing, structural repairs, and preventive maintenance
- Manage groundskeeping activities, including lawn care and exterior upkeep
- Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of all interior and exterior property areas
- Inspect completed work to confirm quality, safety, and compliance
- Review maintenance needs and estimate labor requirements
- Ensure staff follow safety policies and company procedures
- Recommend operational improvements for efficiency
- Manage inventory, purchasing, and maintenance supplies
- Assist other departments with special projects when needed
- Support crisis response procedures (e.g., guest incidents, fire, severe weather)
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervise 1–8 maintenance employees
- Participate in hiring, training, performance evaluations, scheduling, and discipline
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree OR 1–4 years of related maintenance leadership experience
- Strong communication skills—written, verbal, and interpersonal
- Ability to read and interpret safety procedures, reports, and technical information
- Solid understanding of budgeting and basic financial concepts
- Strong problem‑solving and planning skills
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Preferred: CPO (Certified Pool Operator), HVAC certifications (may be required depending on property)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Education
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience
- Maintenance: 1 year (Preferred)
