Position SummaryThe Director of Business Development is responsible for growing Home Health and Hospice through ethical referral development, effective leadership of the business-development team, strong community relationships, marketing strategy, and disciplined management of the referral-to-admission process.The Director owns growth from beginning to end:Market opportunity → referral relationship → qualified referral → timely response → admission → referral-source follow-up → ongoing relationshipSuccess is not measured by activity alone.

It is measured by appropriate admissions, sustainable census growth, referral-source confidence, favorable payer mix, and the performance of the business-development team.Reporting and Leadership AuthorityThe Director of Business Development:Reports to the CEO.Directly supervises sales representatives, community liaisons, and other assigned business-development staff.Establishes performance expectations, territories, target accounts, and referral goals.Coaches the employees and conduct regular performance reviews.Initiate performance-improvement plans when expectations are not met.Recommends disciplinary action, reassignment, or termination when necessary.Participates in leadership decisions involving growth, capacity, service areas, payer strategy, new programs, and market development.Recommends and manages the approved marketing and business development budget.Core Responsibilities1.Home Health and Hospice GrowthDirectly participate in the growth and outcome for Home health & Hospice census2.
