About the position

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted communications advisor and coach to business leaders.
  • Create, implement and oversee external communications programs and public relations activities, including product announcements and media events.
  • Develop effective relationships with key members of the media and serve as an official company spokesperson.
  • Create and disseminate content including press releases, articles, and social media content.
  • Provide counsel and support for crisis management and executive communications.
  • Ensure brand values and visual identity are incorporated into deliverables.
  • Develop and sustain processes to improve the efficiency of communications functions and measure impact.
  • Partner with other Textron business units to leverage communications opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in media relations and strategic communications.
  • Outstanding writing, editing, and proofreading skills utilizing AP style.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated team building and leadership skills.
  • Ability to influence at all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills, including experience managing outside agencies and vendors.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe products, knowledgeable in social networking and content marketing.
