Position Purpose - Marketing Strategist

The Marketing Strategist plays a vital role in the overall creation and implementation of branding, marketing and communications campaigns and organization-wide efforts. This position will be expected to support the department’s efforts and goals, both internally and externally, while increasing customer reach and revenue across all channels. The Marketing Strategist will be charged with reporting marketing and brand analytics and taking lead on copywriting across all mediums and platforms.

Essential Functions

  • Assisting and creating copy ensuring brand consistency throughout all platforms and avenues.
  • Implementing changes and monitoring marketing distribution channels, including the organization’s website, mobile app, email, social media and print.
  • Provide suggestions and guidance for modifications across channels to increase customer experience, engagement and outcomes tied to organizational goals.
  • Manage the organization's online reputations and each location’s digital footprint.
  • Monitor and respond to online reviews and digital engagement.
  • Working in tandem with our Digital Content Specialist to create and implement the organization’s digital marketing strategy and program for brand consistency and growth, including but not limited to social media, websites, email campaigns.
  • Review and track website performance, keyword rankings, and integration with all available monitoring tools and resources.
  • Utilize marketing platforms, such as MailChimp, BrightLocal and SproutSocial, to help achieve organizational goals and improve customer communications.
  • Review current marketing trends, campaigns, and collateral to determine the effectiveness of different styles and strategies.
  • Research competitions to stay current with similar products or services across industry.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Education and Certification

  • Applicants must hold a valid DL, registered and insured vehicle.
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, writing, or other applicable fields

Experience

  • Three to five years experience working in marketing, advertising, communication, or related fields
  • Experience working with both internal and external communication is required
  • Experience working in website development platforms/tools is required
  • Previous experience working on social media channels for an organization/company is required

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and analytical skills
  • Must be able to problem solve and think creatively
  • Exceptional knowledge of related trends and platforms
  • Exposed and comfortable working with SEO and SEM strategies
  • Advanced knowledge in Google Analytics and related insight data reporting
  • Success working independently
  • Proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft Office

Physical Activities

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs
  • Ability to push/pull loads exceeding 100lbs when on a cart with wheels
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to walk several miles per shift in a multitude of environments (i.e. concrete floors, stairs, uneven surfaces)
  • Frequent bending, reaching, crouching and climbing ladders or stools to access inventory from various shelf heights
