Creative Marketing & Design Specialist

HVAC Marketing Success

We're looking for a creative, experienced, and curious person to join our team in Wichita.

This is a little different from a traditional graphic design job.

Yes, we need someone who understands design and knows their way around Photoshop. But we're even more interested in finding someone with a great eye, good judgment and the ability to recognize excellent work when they see it.

AI is completely changing what a small creative team can accomplish. We're embracing that.

We want someone who understands the fundamentals of good design but is also excited to use AI and new creative tools to produce better work, solve problems faster, and keep expanding what we can do for our clients.

What Would You Actually Do?

The work varies. A lot.

We work exclusively with a small group of HVAC and home service companies across the country. Because we intentionally work with only about 12–15 clients at a time, we get deeply involved in their marketing.

On any given week, you might

  • Create graphics and images for a client's website
  • Turn a collection of client photos into a great-looking video
  • Design social media graphics, cover images and profile headers
  • Create a badge celebrating a company's 25th, 50th or 75th year in business
  • Help design a billboard
  • Create a flyer promoting ice machine repair
  • Design sales materials for a company's generator division
  • Help create brochures, postcards, leave-behinds, or other print materials
  • Improve graphics or photos provided by a client
  • Create visual concepts using AI image-generation tools
  • Help develop sales presentations and marketing materials
  • Take an existing design that isn't working and make it significantly better
  • Jump into a completely different creative project tomorrow that none of us were expecting today

If you need every Tuesday to look exactly like Monday, this probably isn't the right position.

If you enjoy variety, figuring things out, and learning new tools, you may love it here.

We're Looking for Someone With a Good Eye

Knowing how to operate software isn't the same thing as being a good designer.

Lots of people can use Canva.

We're looking for someone who can look at a billboard and immediately recognize too many things competing for attention, a broken visual hierarchy, colors that don't work together, and that nobody driving past at 45 mph will understand it.

That's JUDGMENT.

You should understand things like

  • Visual hierarchy
  • Typography
  • Spacing and composition
  • Color
  • Contrast
  • Branding and consistency
  • When a design feels too busy
  • How to make something look polished and professional
  • How the design should change depending on where and how it will be used

You don't need a specific number of years of experience or a fancy design degree. We care much more about whether you can recognize and produce excellent work.

Professional design experience is definitely a plus.

Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop is important. We want someone who has experience beyond simply putting templates together in Canva.

We already use AI extensively, and we believe its creative capabilities are going to continue changing incredibly quickly.

Some hands-on experience with AI tools is important, but what matters even more is that you're curious, adaptable, and genuinely excited to keep learning.

We want someone who experiments with new tools, learns what they're good at, understands their limitations and combines them with real design skills and human judgment.

AI can generate 20 designs in a few minutes.

Knowing which one is actually good is still incredibly valuable.

About Us

We're a small digital marketing company located in Wichita near 13th and Ridge.

We help HVAC companies across the country with SEO, websites, content, design, sales materials, strategy, and anything else that helps them market and grow.

We're growing, but we're doing it intentionally.

We aren't interested in having hundreds of clients and doing mediocre work for all of them. We intentionally work with roughly 12–15 clients at a time so we can get to know their businesses and do great work for them.

Our clients trust us and stay with us for years.

We're a close, family-friendly team. We move quickly, communicate directly, and avoid layers of management, office politics, and cumbersome approval processes that slow everything down.

The Kind of Person Who Will Do Well Here

You will probably love working with us if you

  • Have a strong eye for design
  • Are proficient with Photoshop
  • Have some professional design or creative experience
  • Enjoy doing different kinds of work instead of the same thing every day
  • Are curious about AI and emerging creative tools
  • Enjoy learning and getting better
  • Take pride in producing work that looks excellent
  • Can accept feedback without getting defensive
  • Don't have a big ego about your ideas
  • Are willing to change direction when someone comes up with a better solution
  • Are dependable and follow through
  • Pay attention to details
  • Like solving problems
  • Are comfortable figuring things out
  • Care about the quality of the finished product, not just checking a task off a list

Experience creating work for real businesses or clients is a big plus. You won't manage client relationships or deal directly with clients, but understanding that the work ultimately needs to accomplish something for a real business is valuable.

Compensation & Schedule

$25–$32/hour, depending on experience and ability.

This is a full-time, in-office position at our Wichita office at 13th and Ridge.

This is not a remote position.

Please send us your resume along with examples of your work or a link to your portfolio.

We'd also love to hear

  • What creative/design tools you're strongest with
  • How you've used AI in your creative work so far
  • An AI or creative tool you've recently discovered that you're excited about
  • An example of a design or project you're particularly proud of and why
  • What you think separates an average design from a great one

We're looking for someone who wants more than another job.

We're looking for someone who wants to become an important part of a small team, keep growing their skills, do work they're proud of and help us continually raise the bar for what we can do for our clients.
