Summary: The painter preps and paints major composite sub-assemblies for in-service commercial aircraft. This position is a entry level position, majority of the day will be spent in paint removal and prepping.

Responsibilities

· Paint Removal (sanding)

· Sanding and trimming composite components

· Surface preparation

· Masking

Trained in aspects

· Paint mixing

· Application of various paints and lacquers through all stages from primer to topcoat finish

Preferred qualifications

· 0-3 years of experience in general paint prep composite aero structures

· Working knowledge of compressed air and paint application equipment

· Ability to work with stencils and decals

This position requires the use of vision up close (clear vision at 20 inches or less) and at a distance (clear vision at 20 feet or more), the ability to identify and distinguish colors, peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up, down or to the left and/or right while the eyes are fixed on a given point), depth perception (three dimensional vision, ability to judge distance and spatial relationships), and the ability to adjust focus.

Work environment: The Painter performs work in a production environment and may regularly be exposed to dust and heat. The regular use of hand-held tools and equipment is required. Occasional exposure to loud noise (e.g., drilling) and fumes or airborne particles should be expected.
