Evolve Consulting Engineers is seeking a motivated and talented Mechanical Engineer to join our collaborative team. In this role, you will be a key player in designing innovative HVAC systems, solving complex challenges for our clients, and helping to shape the future of a forward-thinking firm.
Duties
- Design and lay out comprehensive HVAC systems for a variety of projects, including commercial, industrial, and multi-residential buildings.
- Perform detailed heating and cooling load calculations using industry-standard software (e.g., HAP, Trace 700).
- Develop high-quality construction documents, including drawings and specifications, using Revit MEP.
- Collaborate directly with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to ensure seamless project coordination and integration.
- Engage in construction administration activities, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and conducting site observations.
- Mentor and support the development of junior team members as the firm grows.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by researching and implementing new technologies and design methodologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications in HVAC or systems engineering are a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design for buildings within the MEP consulting industry.
- Proficiency in Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
- Experience performing load calculations and designing HVAC systems.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification and a commitment to pursuing a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, problem-solving mindset.
- A strong desire to take ownership of projects and grow with a dynamic company.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineering License.
- Experience in designing mechanical systems for medical facilities, such as hospitals, medical office buildings (MOBs), or dental clinics.
- Familiarity with energy modeling software (e.g., Trace3D).
- Experience with plumbing or medical gas system design.
- Active involvement in industry organizations like ASHRAE.
