Berry Companies, Inc. is headquartered in Wichita, KS. We are an administrative support group, which provides IT, accounting, data processing, payroll, insurance, marketing, and financial services for our nine operating divisions.

The IT Support Manager leads Berry Companies' day-to-day IT support operations, ensuring employees experience reliable, efficient technology and outstanding service. This role implements the policies, procedures, and systems needed to keep the organization's technology running smoothly, supervises IT support staff, and serves as the primary point of contact for resolving technology issues across all divisions. As the IT leader, this role must work closely and partner with the executive team in the local office as well as division leaders in the field to make sure that we deliver technological solutions that meet the needs of an equipment dealership.

Salary $100,000 - $125,000/year depending on experience

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the IT support function, including the help desk, and related communications throughout the company.
  • Supervise IT support staff, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback; own hiring, scheduling, and development of the team.
  • Serve as the face of the IT department to Berry Companies' divisions; communicating proactively, resolving escalations quickly, and following up to confirm the issue is truly solved.
  • Coordinate the successful rollout of systems updates, upgrades, and new technology solutions with minimal disruption to the business.
  • Work closely with operations to develop, execute and maintain a long-term strategy for technology including disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Establish and administer IT support policies, procedures, and service standards; monitor tickets and response times to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Manage research and selection of IT equipment, applications, and vendor relationships; work with leadership to develop IT department budgets.
  • Stay current on cybersecurity risks and best practices; support company-wide cybersecurity compliance.
  • Partners with the other branch support service department to design and deliver company-wide training on systems and technology usage; maintain IT training and support documentation.
  • Report progress, risks, and opportunities to senior management with clear, timely updates.
  • Continually look for new and improved ways to deliver IT support, and take on other duties as assigned to address unexpected needs.
  • Assess capabilities within the IT department and work to continuously improve certifications and skills to keep up with competitive landscape.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a business-related field required; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of progressive IT experience, including supervisory or team-lead experience.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, CompTIA A+, Cisco Certified Network Associate) a plus.
  • Working knowledge of network infrastructure sufficient to personally troubleshoot and to direct staff and vendor partners including: routing/switching, wireless access points, data backup and disaster recovery, physical and virtualized deployments across remote sites.
  • Demonstrated ability to build a culture of responsible security that protects the business without disrupting daily operations with a working knowledge of the current security landscape including:
  • Endpoint and network traffic monitoring
  • Email/threat filtering
  • Multi-factor authentication
  • Employee security-awareness training
  • Knowledge of PCI-DSS compliance and supports SOC1 readiness, partnering with the Director of Finance/CFO on audit requirements, evidence gathering, and remediation.
  • Flexible (early/late/weekend) hours may be required, particularly during the new hire's initial ramp-up and onboarding period; occasional travel thereafter for training and division operational needs.
  • Ability to access, input, and process information using a computer intermittently throughout the day; occasional exposure to shop/manufacturing environments.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds or pushing/pulling small objects.
  • Sits most of the time.
  • Infrequent to occasional walking or standing.
  • Physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines which include a computer, printer, facsimile machine, copy machine, calculator, telephone, etc. on a repetitive basis.
