Social Media and Marketing ManagerLocation: Wichita, KSEmployment Type: Full-Time (In-Office)Team: Wichita Thunder Hockey - ECHL Affiliate of the San Jose SharksPosition Overview:The Wichita Thunder is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and highly motivated individual to serve as our Social Media and Marketing Manager. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced sports environment and is passionate about digital content, brand marketing, fan engagement, and delivering top-notch sponsor service. You'll lead the team's social media strategy, support overall marketing campaigns, and manage the execution and reporting of corporate partnership deliverables.Key Responsibilities:Social Media Management (Approx. 60%)• Develop, plan, and implement a content calendar across all major platforms (Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube).• Create engaging content that drives fan interaction, brand awareness, and ticket sales.• Produce and edit graphics, photos, and short-form videos for digital use.• Live post during home games and community appearances.• Monitor trends and fan sentiment to optimize content strategy.• Track analytics and engagement metrics to report performance and improve reach.Marketing & Promotions (Approx. 30%)• Assist in developing and executing the team's seasonal marketing strategy, including print, digital, radio, and grassroots campaigns.• Help manage game day promotional planning including theme nights, giveaways, and fan engagement ideas.• Assist in coordination of email marketing campaigns and fan newsletters.• Support community relations efforts, school programs, mascot appearances, and off-site activations.• Maintain brand standards across all touchpoints including print collateral, signage, and advertising.Corporate Fulfillment (Approx. 10%)• Maintain accurate tracking and documentation of sponsor deliverables.• Build recap reports and presentation decks for partner renewals and season reviews.Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, sports management, or related field.• 1-3 years of experience in digital marketing, social media, or sponsorship fulfillment (sports experience preferred).• Proficient in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere), or other content creation tools.• Excellent writing, storytelling, and communication skills.• Strong organizational and time-management abilities with attention to detail.• Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the team schedule.Preferred Skills:• Experience with marketing automation tools or social media scheduling platforms (e.g., Hootsuite, Mailchimp, Sprout Social).• Familiarity with CRM or sponsorship tracking platforms.• Basic photography or video shooting/editing abilities.• Creative thinker with a passion for fan engagement and brand building.Why Join the Thunder?• Be a key voice in the digital and in-arena experience of a professional hockey franchise.• Gain valuable cross-department experience in marketing, content, and sponsorship services.• Work in a collaborative, fast-paced sports environment where your creativity and ideas can make a real impact.We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.Job Questions:Describe a social media campaign or post you created that drove strong engagement.
