Job Description
We are seeking a Product Engineer – Mechanical to support both new product development and the ongoing improvement of existing mechanical designs. This role focuses on designing, sustaining, and optimizing mechanical components and assemblies while balancing performance, quality, cost, and manufacturability. The position works closely with cross-functional teams to bring reliable, market-ready products from concept through production. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys hands-on design work, problem-solving in manufacturing environments, and contributing to continuous product improvement.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for new and existing products.
- Apply sound mechanical engineering principles to improve product performance, reliability, and user experience.
- Coordinate with engineering team members to align designs with project schedules and budget targets.
- Prepare and maintain 3D models, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Conduct and participate in design reviews with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support manufacturing by identifying root causes of production issues and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with operations teams on cost-reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare and maintain bills of materials and support production launch activities.
- Assist with prototype builds, testing, and validation activities.
- Coordinate limited field or application testing as required.
- Partner with product, manufacturing, quality, and customer support teams to resolve technical issues.
- Support warranty and product performance investigations as needed.
- Collaborate with commercial and planning teams to evaluate feasibility, cost, and customer requirements.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of organization and accountability.
- Produce clear, accurate engineering documentation and comply with relevant mechanical standards and codes as required for product applications.
- Follow all safety, quality, and ethical standards in daily work.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical design or product engineering roles.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD tools and engineering documentation.
- Working knowledge of common manufacturing processes such as machining, casting, molding, and assembly.
- Proficiency with standard office software, including spreadsheet tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with GD&T, simulation, or analytical tools.
- Exposure to project-based engineering environments.
- Familiarity with product lifecycle or enterprise resource planning systems.
- Experience with continuous improvement or process optimization methodologies.
- Experience using modern mechanical CAD platforms.
Work Environment
The position follows a primarily first-shift schedule and involves a combination of office and temperature-controlled manufacturing or lab environments. Occasional hands-on work with tools or equipment is required to support engineering activities. The role demands the ability to stand or move throughout production or lab environments, reach, bend, and lift components or products, and wear necessary personal protective equipment. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $90000.00/hr.
